Because of her appearance from the barren land, the idol of Mata became famous by the name of Banjari Devi.

Banjari Mata is considered to be the family goddess of the Banjara caste people roaming across the country, that is why Banjaras used to worship in this temple.

Later, this temple came to be known as Banjari Temple.

But this idol of Banjari Mata situated here has special recognition for Tantric worship due to its Bagulamukhi form.

In this temple, the pleasures and tortures of heaven and hell have been displayed through various sculptures and paintings.

Skandamata Swaroopini Devi has four arms.

Skandamata is holding Lord Skanda in her lap with her right upper arm and is holding a lotus flower in her lower right arm.
