 Located about 40 km from Jagdalpur, these underground caves are located deep in the forest at Tiratgarh Waterfall and feature impressive structures of stalactites (limestone pillars hanging from the roof) and stalagmites (ground pillars). It was built on top of a hill 200 feet long, 35 feet wide and 15 feet deep at the age of one million years. If you remember that stalactites and stalagmites  take about 6,000 years to form, fall, fall, and evolve an inch, you’ll be speechless at the giant columns of Kanger Caves. There are traces of other stalagmites that were apparently worshiped in the form of Shiva lingams. The echo going on here is strange music. With a flashlight and a guide, you can enjoy the pleasure of exploring this fantastic cave. 

 Kutumsar Cave -Chhattisgarh Caves

 As soon as you enter, you’ll know what “pitch dark” means. Located in  Kanger Gati National Park, Kutumsar Caves is 38 km from Jagdalpur. 

 

 Probably the second largest natural cave in the world, it has five natural chambers and several clogged wells.  Kutumsar Cave is also home to a unique species of genetically blind fish.

 Aranya’s Cave 

 The Aranya Caves are a series of deep and extensive limestone caves located in the Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh, India. The cave is a popular tourist destination known for its spectacular stalactites, stalagmites and helictites. 

  The cave was first discovered in 1868 by  British officer James Burgess, who was looking for a way to the Red Fort. He was named  after  Raja Raigarh’s wife, Princess Amanya. The cave has been extensively explored and mapped and is considered one of the most important tourist destinations in Chhattisgarh.

The cave is in the Raigarh district of the state. it was formed  800 million years ago and is one of the oldest in the world.
