Jatmai Ghatarani Temple

First of all, you should know that both Jatmai and Ghatarani are different temples. 

There is a difference of about 02 kilometers between these two temples. 

Both these temples have beautiful waterfalls which attract the attention of devotees and tourists. 

 

Jatmai Mata Temple

This temple is of Mata Jatmai who is also Vanadevi. 

This temple was built by the Kamar tribe in the 16th century. 

Apart from Jatmai Devi, idols of Maa Durga, Lord Rama, and Lord Narasimha are here. 

Mata Jatmai is enshrined in the main temple. 

The stream of water flows touching the feet of the mother. 

It is said that these streams are the servants of Mother. 

There is no shortage of water here in any season.

Jatmai Temple or Jatmai waterfall

This temple is in the lap of nature.

the waterfall flowing near the temple and the surrounding greenery create a panoramic view. 

It is a beautiful confluence of natural sites and religious sites.

 A large number of devotees come from far and wide during Navratri and have the darshan of the mother.

Near the temple, there is a huge statue of Lord Hanuman with Lord Rama and Lakshmana sitting on their shoulders. 

The height of this idol is about 150. 

The water flowing from under the idol and the surrounding greenery look very beautiful.

Apart from all these, there are mainly two caves in which the idols of deities are.

Mata Kali is in the Kali Devi cave.

and in the lion cave also the photo of the mother Vagra is kept and worshiped.

but according to the devotees, earlier the lions of the forest used to reside here, hence this cave was named Sher Gufa.

Ghatarani Temple

The Ghatarani temple has been sitting in a cave on a hill in the dense forests since ancient times.

which over time with a temple on top of the cave, the beauty of which is visible.

 It is believed that those who used to go astray in the forests earlier reached their destination when they offered fruits and flowers to them. 

Goddess Ghatarani takes the lost people to their destination. 

Apart from this, there is also a Shivling here which is Ghateswarnath.

There is Ghatarani Falls near the temple which attracts a lot of tourists and picnickers. 

The water falling over the rocks from the height looks very beautiful.

there is a pool under the waterfall where people are doing water sports.

Best time to visit Jatmai Ghatarani Temple

You can visit Jatmai and Ghatarani temples in any month of the year, but if you want to enjoy the natural beauty along with the temple, then go from July to January season.

How to visit Jatmai Ghatarani Temple

The distance of these temples from the capital Raipur is about 80 kms.

 Firstly, come to Raipur and then you can reach the temple by traveling 80 kms with the help of your vehicle or by booking a taxi.
