There are many animals inside Kotumsar (Kutumsar) but colorful blind fish are found only inside this cave in the whole of India.

The species of this fish is named after the discoverer of the cave, Prof. Named after Shankar Tiwari.

History of Kotumsar Cave

The credit for the discovery of this cave goes to Professor Shankar Tiwari who discovered this cave in 1958 with the help of local tribals.

This cave has been formed naturally due to various changes in nature and the flow of water.

The initial name of the Kotamsar cave was Gompsar, but due to the Kotamsar village being near the cave, the name of this cave became Kotamsar cave.

According to researchers, primitive humans live here in prehistoric times.

According to the local people here, Lord Ram ji had resided in this cave during his exile, as well as there is a Shivling inside this cave, which the local people have been worshiping for many years.

This cave is in the middle of a dense forest, which is why you have to use a gypsy to reach this cave, the fare of which is around 1500 rupees.
