History of Pali Temple

It is believed that this temple was built by the Bana dynasty king Vikramaditya around 900 AD.

This temple is constructed by sand stone.

It is believed that Pali Nagar used to be the place of worship of King Vikramaditya.

King Vikramaditya, a Banna Dynasty ruler, had built a Shiva temple in Pali in ancient times, which is still situated on the banks of a large pond.

And its garbhghar is in octagonal form.

King Vikramaditya is also known and known as ‘Jaymayu’, son of King Mahamandaleshwar Maldev.

This temple was built around 870 AD.

It was repaired by King Jajalva Dev I, the first Kalachuri ruler, in the 11th and 12th centuries. Whose name is also written on the temple.

The pond located near the entrance of this temple has nine corners.

Also this pond is found filled with water throughout the year.

It has been told by the people of the nearby villages that in the month of Sawan, thousands of devotees come here to have darshan of Lord Shiva and offer water to Lord Shiva. Along with this, Kanwariyas from faraway places wearing Kanwar also reach here to offer water to Lord Shiva. Every year a grand fair is also organized here in the month of Sawan. In which people come here in large numbers.
